Starting a business requires time, hard work, and dedication. Keeping the business protected against unforeseen events requires insurance. Business Owners
As a business owner, protecting the assets of your company is key to ensuring its well-being. Two types of insurance coverage can help protect your business against any unforeseen events: property and liability insurance. Property insurance covers many types of loss and damage that occur due to unexpected events such as theft, fire, and vandalism. In addition, property insurance can also help cover the cost of getting your business back on track after the unexpected event’s occurrence.
A second type of insurance necessary for any business is liability insurance. Liability insurance will help cover the cost of accidents occurring to persons on the business property and persons harmed by the use of your product. In addition, if your company gets sued, your liability insurance will help to cover the cost of attorney’s fees and monetary awards paid (if any).
Business Auto Insurance
Most personal auto insurance will not cover damages to a vehicle if the vehicle is mainly used for business. Therefore, business vehicles should be insured with business auto insurance. In the instance of an accident, business auto insurance provides coverage not only for the vehicle, but also for those involved in the accident. In addition, if your business is found to be responsible for the accident, business auto insurance will pay, up to the insurance liability limit, the damages incurred by the other party.
Workers Compensation Insurance
By law, businesses must be able to provide worker’s compensation to its employees if the number of employees exceeds a certain minimum. If an employee gets injured while on the job, independent of fault, it is the responsibility of the business to pay the medical expenses associated with the injury. In addition, it is the responsibility of the business to provide the employee with a portion of the wages lost due to time off from work as a result of the injury.

Group Medical Insurance
The thought of insuring your employees may appear overwhelming, but it does not have to be. Group medical insurance is both affordable and an excellent way to hire and keep the best employees as employees are more likely to stay with a business if they are helped with medical expenses. One issue for the business, however, is deciding on the right medical plan. Group medical plans not only range in price, but also range in the amount contributed by the employer and employee, and types of services offered.
